Jason Roberts is a long-time supporter of Share Our Strength, a national non-profit that works to end childhood hunger in America through its critically acclaimed No Kid Hungry campaign.
In 2014, Jason's passion for fitness and strong desire to help children in need drove him to establish Chefs Cycle for No Kid Hungry with assistance from Share Our Strength. For nearly 30 years, chefs and restaurants have served as Share Our Strength's most ardent supporters raising millions to help end childhood hunger in America. Realizing this, Jason spearheaded a peer-to-peer fundraising endurance event in which fitness-minded chefs and restaurant industry professionals have banded together to help fight hunger from outside the kitchen.
By getting on their bikes and pedaling hundreds of miles on both coasts over the past few years, Jason and 100+ of his foodie friends have helped raise awareness and much-needed funds for No Kid Hungry.
2015 saw the chefs pedal 300 miles from New York City to Washington, DC, followed by a cross-country flight to The Golden State so they could ride 300 miles more from Santa Barbara to San Diego.
From June 27-29, 2016, the chefs (125 in all!) powered through another 300 miles along the California coastline from Carmel to Santa Barbara. Their efforts raised more than $1 million in support of No Kid Hungry! For a taste of the action, watch the video below.
Next year's ride is already in the works, so stay tuned... To learn more about the organization and make a donation, please visit chefscycle.org. Also, be sure to follow Chefs Cycle on Instagram and Twitter. Ride on!
