Hello friends,
This may be my most important blog post ever. With less than a month before my 3 day, 300+ mile Chefs on Bikes ride, I am growing more and more excited about everything that is happening. I’m counting down the days until I start this epic adventure and I’m happy that I get to use my passions and strengths to do my part to help end childhood hunger in America.
My team and I have set a goal of raising $25,000 for the No Kid Hungry campaign! I have set a goal for myself and now I’d like to set a goal for all of you. We have so many ways you can get involved:
• Donate. Every dollar can help provide a child with up to ten healthy meals. These donations are helping to make No Kid Hungry a reality.
• On the weekend of May 30th-June 1st, get on a bike anywhere in the nation. Have your friends and family donate for every mile you ride. Join my team by visiting http://join.nokidhungry.org/goto/chefsonbikes and click the “join team” button to create your own fundraising page.
• Meet me along the way! Do you live near New York City, Philadelphia, or Washington, DC? Come out to one of my Shake Shack meet-ups and join me in celebrating this 3 day adventure.
As I ramp up for this ride, I have been training and making healthy meal choices, with lots of protein and carbohydrates. Eating healthy has made it possible for me to fulfill this long-term goal. As a chef, it is hard for me to think of the millions of children in America who are going without a healthy meal every day. How are they going to be able to fulfill their goals?
That is why I am riding. Will you join my efforts this May? I know many of you like my posts on Facebook, or retweet my tweets on Twitter, and I’m so appreciative of that fact. But now I’m asking you for more than just a click of the keyboard. I’m doing my part by pedaling 300 miles. I’m asking you to do your part to support me and get actively involved! Ride, walk, jump, shout or simply donate to support my efforts to raise awareness and needed dollars. Help me and the No Kid Hungry Team eradicate childhood hunger in our lifetime. Together we can make sure we leave No Kid Hungry!
“Remember, the finish line is only the beginning.”
Thanks so much and God bless,
Jason
